NEAT Thanksgiving Idea For Uncarved Pumpkins

Do you have some uncut pumpkins sitting around? Are you wondering what to do with them? Here is an easy and fun idea! Make them into air fresheners!

First, you’ll need to choose a pattern. I chose to carve one of my pumpkins with hearts… the other, I unsuccessfully made a weave pattern.  Sorry… I know it’s ugly. It was my very first try. Just ignore it. I ended up throwing it away and not using that one anyway. LOL.

NOTE: If you have a PIE pumpkin instead of a jack-o-lantern pumpkin… the carving will be very different. Pie pumpkins… or sugar pumpkins… are a little difficult to carve because the consistency is different. You could always use your drill and make a lace pumpkin like I showed you in an earlier post.

From here… after you carve it up… coat the inside of your pumpkin with ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves. Now, when you light a tea-light candle inside of it, it will heat up the spices and smell WONDERFUL! It’s a great way to bring some delicious Autumn scents to your home this season. I don’t light mine on Thanksgiving morning, since the entire house is filled with the delicious smell of turkey. I wait until the afternoon or evening when everyone is sitting around talking and laughing. It’s so nice and “homey”. Everyone loved it. Give it a try!!
